"In Defense of Creation"

The Council of Bishops of the United Methodist Church has undertaken a three-year process to update its landmark 1986 statement, In Defense of Creation. The 2004 United Methodist General Conference instructed the Council adapt the statement to speak to the dramatic changes in the 20 years since its release. They have appointed a task force of bishops to lead them. Its members are Bishop Timothy W. Whitaker (Chair), Bishop Warner Brown, Bishop Violet Fisher, Bishop Charlene Kammerer, Bishop Deborah Lieder Kiesey, Bishop Patrick Streiff, Bishop C. Dale White, and Bishop Joe Wilson. CCTPP is providing staff services to the Task Force.
